Plaid Cymru Dyffryn Ogwen presents: VRï + Angharad Jenkins
Join us for a special evening of world-class Welsh music in the heart of Dyffryn Ogwen. Proceeds from the night will support Plaid Cymru Bangor, Conwy and Môn’s election campaign.
VRï are three young musicians from the chapel heartlands of Wales who breathe new life into the nation’s traditional music. With dazzling fiddle work, rich harmonies, and a sound that fuses chamber music with the energy of a pub session, VRï have created a “wonderful and unique soundscape” (Songlines ★★★★★). Their music connects past and present — songs of struggle, joy and belonging that resonate across the centuries.
Angharad Jenkins is a bilingual singer, songwriter and fiddle-player from Swansea, at the forefront of the Welsh folk scene. Together with long-time collaborator Patrick Rimes, she has been reshaping Welsh folk music through progressive interpretations of traditional tunes. Their latest project, amrwd, captures the raw, earthy energy of two fiddles in lively dialogue, weaving rich harmonies and timeless songs with new compositions inspired by Wales’ musical heritage.
An unforgettable night of music, story and spirit — celebrating Welsh identity, creativity and community.
